About podiatry

podiatry

Podiatry is a specialist service which deals with the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of foot and lower limb conditions.

Here at Fontwell Physio, we are extremely fortunate to have the highly experience Dr Ian Robinson working along side us. Ian specialises in biomechanics and musculoskeletal podiatry and is highly skilled in the assessment and diagnosis of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. The treatment aims to reduce your symptoms through exercise prescription and/or through the use of custom orthotics which Ian makes himself.

Ian works closely with our highly experience team of musculoskeletal physiotherapists to ensure the highest standards of care.

About the musculoskeletal foot and ankle clinic

The musculoskeletal foot and ankle clinic is available for assessment and treatment of anyone with an injury or who requires a supply of prescription foot orthoses.

Who might come to the foot and ankle clinic?

You may have developed pain, swelling or stiffness that affects your daily activities, work or recreational sport. Typically, anybody with pain from the ankle, beneath the heel, the arch or the ball of the foot would attend the clinic. You may be aware that your or your child's feet appear to be 'flat' or that 'the arches have dropped'.

Why might it be useful?

By working up a clear diagnosis of your problem, it will be possible to direct the most appropriate treatment. Whether you have recent and acute symptoms or a more long-standing and chronic problem, it should be possible to arrive at a treatment plan for you. This may change from specific advice regarding your activities and footwear, prescription of foot orthoses, referral on for physiotherapy referral or for steroid injection therapy.
